The right ceramic material for your application
We will be happy to advise you which material is best suited to your particular case.
The importance of high-performance ceramics is immense and can be found in almost all areas of technical applications. This is especially true when the thermo-mechanical requirements are very high. In addition, ceramics are characterized by factors such as biocompatibility and chemical resistance.
Ceramic is the only possible material for applications where temperatures of over 300 °C prevail and electrically insulating or non-magnetic properties are required at the same time.
Metallic materials quickly reach their limits at high temperatures in an oxygen-containing atmosphere. They massively lose strength and tend to corrode. Ceramics, on the other hand, remain chemically and mechanically resistant at temperatures of up to 1900 °C.
Aluminum oxide is the most commonly used material in technical ceramics and, with a chemical purity of 99.9 %, is our Standard material in ceramic 3D printing.
Zirconium oxide - also known as zirconium oxide - is a ceramic material that is mostly used for applications with high mechanical load used if the requirement profile cannot be met by aluminum oxide, for example.
ZTA is a mixture of Al2O3 and ZrO2. ZTA thus combines the advantages of both materials.
The material consists largely of a mixture of Al2O3 and consequently a large part of its properties. The ZrO2 content then additionally ensures improved mechanical properties, in particular the increase in strength.
On customer request, we can offer you a suitable material mix.
